How do I pay for my course?
You can pay direct on the website either via credit,debit card or paypal. You can also request that we send you an invoice direct to your email account.
How long will it take me to complete my course work?
That depends. You can take as long or as quickly as you choose. Its up to you how much time and effort you put into your course work. Some students take up to a year some students complete in a matter of weeks. (we do however recommend that your courses be completed within 12 months ) As a guideline the majority of our courses will take you aprox 24 -30 hrs to complete depending on the type of course. Advanced courses may take a little longer.
How do I apply for my exam and how is it sent?
When you are ready for your exam simply email us your request. Your exam will be sent to you as an attachment within 24hrs. You should complete the exam and return it to us as an attachment via email to be marked within 7 days. Please note that you will be requested to do a minimum of one case study so please bare this in mind when requesting your exam.
What if I don't wish to take an exam at the end of the course?
Then that's fine too, we have lots of students who just like to gain knowledge and do not necessarily want to take an examination. You will have the option at the end of your chosen course whether to take the exam or not.
How do I know if I have passed my exam?
You will be notified of your results within 7 days. On successful completion of your exam you will receive your diploma or certificate either as an attachment or hard copy within 12 days.
Opening Zip & Course Files? If you are opening your files on a tablet/IPad or phone then you will need to have the correct apps installed to allow you to open pdf and zip files. These are usually free to download. You can also request that your courses are sent to you unzipped. What if I fail my exam?
We will notify you of your results and if you have not passed, you will be given the opportunity to re-submit your exam at no extra charge. Please note you will be able to read through your examination and take your time, you are in no hurry and have up to 7 days to complete this and if you have read and understood your course material then we doubt very much that you will have to re-sit.
What is the difference between a Diploma and Certificate Course?
The diploma courses tend to be a little more in-depth and advanced, however both the certificate and diploma courses are accredited.
What if I need extra copies of my diploma/certificate?
These can be requested by clicking on the qualification Request link. You can order extra copies of either pdf or hard copy.
How much does my Diploma/Certificate cost?
Most of our courses have the qualification included in the price of the course and will be sent to you via pdf so that you may print it off at home, if you would like a signed and hard copy posted out to you there will be an upgrade admin charge of £10.
For those of you whom have not purchased the course direct from our website and for taking your examination and getting your School Of Life Studies qualification accredited with the I.P.H.M International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine and the IICT including marking of exam and issue of your Diploma/Certificate there will be a charge of £12.50 for a pdf copy or £20.00 for a hard copy including p&p.
How do I apply and pay for my Diploma/certificate?
All our courses purchased from the website now include your diploma/certificate which will be sent to you as a pdf file so you may print it off at home. (see above) However if you would like to upgrade or would like copies of your diploma posted out to you then please click on the Qualification Request Page.
Do I have to do any case studies?
You will be expected to complete at least one case study. This will help consolidate your learning and will be marked as part of your exam. You can also visit the Student Library which offers videos and practical tips that will be helpful to you during your studies.
Do I have to attend a workshop?
Because our students are worldwide, we do not hold workshops and as our course material is so precise we are confident you will be proficient in your chosen therapy when you have completed your studies. However if you are undertaking any form of massage course or hopi ear candling, then we strongly recommend that you attend a practical day before working with the public.
I live in Canada, South Africa, Mexico, china, India etc.. can I still study with you and is my qualification recognised? All courses are accredited internationally and holistic therapy is studied world wide as this is a peaceful and natural therapy we see no reason why this is not accepted in any country. We have students from all over the world whom are now working as successful therapists after training with the School of Life Studies. We are also recognised course providers with the IICT in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, US, UK.
Why are your courses so inexpensive?
We keep our courses affordable to all as we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn about holistic healing no matter what there status or background. You will not lose out on any information and you will also have full access to the student library.
Can I then practice my therapy legally?
Once you have passed any of our accredited courses you can legally practice your chosen therapy, however we strongly recommend that you take out adequate insurance if working with the public, this is law in many countries and especially the UK. The School of Life Studies accept no responsibility for students who may cause injury whilst working with the public after taking any of our courses. As a Life Study Student once you have passed your exam you will also be eligible to apply for membership to the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine. This will then offer you more credibility as a therapist and as a member of the IPHM you will be issued with a therapy badge and certificate to display on your wall or therapy room and apply for insurance. Insurance - I wish to work as a practitioner do I need insurance?
SLS strongly advise any practitioner to have adequate insurance and in most countries this is a legal requirement. All students whom qualify will have the option to obtain holistic insurance and as a member of either the iict or the iphm you will be eligible for discount. Please check your own countries legislation for insurance.
What is the Student Library? Our student library has been set up especially for you. Here you will find helpful training videos relevant to your chosen course. You will also find further reading and products that you may find helpful. Details of the library will automatically be sent with your course material.
How is my course work sent to me? When you make payment for your course you will receive an email from us with your course files attached within 24hrs. If you order your course on Cd Rom this will be posted out to you within 48hrs of payment. You will still be sent an introduction email within 24hrs confirming your payment and choice of course/courses.
What are my payment options? Because paypal is the one of the safest and most secure methods of payment on the internet we recommend payment through this channel. You may also pay by credit or debit card. If you do not have a paypal account you can still make payment by credit or debit card by clicking on the payment button, you will then be asked to select your preferred method of payment. you are having a problem paying on the website you can request that we send you an invoice. You can then make payment direct form the invoice.
I have ordered & paid for my course but I have not received it? Please allow up to 24hrs for your course files to be sent to you however it is normally much quicker than this. If after this time you have still not received your files then please check your spam or junk folders. We recommend that you save our email address to your address book so that important emails from us do not go astray. If you have still not received your files and have checked that you are getting emails sent to you OK then please contact us either via email or telephone so that we can re-send them.
I have received my course files why do you need confirmation? Once we have sent your course files we will request that you confirm that you have received them and opened all your files OK. We also request that you add our email address to your contact list so that important emails we send you do not go into your spam folder by mistake. We also like to confirm that the files have been sent to the correct email address and student. Should your email address or student name be different from that what is on your payment invoice we will need to know.
