What are Affirmations?
Most people repeat in their minds negative words and statements concerning the situations and events in their lives, and consequently, create undesirable situations. However words can work both ways, they can build or they can destroy. It is the way we use them that determines whether they are going to bring good or harmful results.
An affirmation is a statement or phrase that can be written down or repeated verbally. Affirmations focus attention on a positive outcome of a situation, it is a statement that has been carefully crafted to address an unwanted pattern and transform it through the use of positive thought. When you start saying your positive affirmations they may not be true, but your subconscious mind will accept it as being true and eventually they will become your reality.
If you are finding yourself using negative words such as I can’t do this, I am going to fail you really should do something to change them. Repeated positive statements can help focus your mind on your aim
When you use affirmations, use the present tense, not the future tense. For example saying, "I will be slim", means that you intend to be slim one day, in the indefinite future, but not now. It is more effective to say, and also feel, "I am slim now", the subconscious mind will then work overtime to make this happen now. Try and be as relaxed as you can and pay full attention to the words you are repeating.
Examples of positive Affirmations:
I am a naturally confident person
I am happy
I only meet positive people
I am rich
I am beautiful
I am a positive happy person
By using positive affirmations you are stating what you want to be true in your life. You are mentally and emotionally seeing it as already being true irrespective of your current circumstances when you do this you will thereby attract it into your life
