One medium-sized banana has about 105 calories and almost all of which come from carbs. Now, I will reveal detailed information on all the vitamins and minerals in bananas. Like most of the fruits, bananas mainly consist of carbohydrates and they are also very low in both fat and protein.
Being sweet and creamy, so it may be simple to forget that bananas have many nutrients your body needs to stay strong and healthy. In this post, I will reveal some of the banana nutrition facts that you should know and then try to add more of the bananas to your diet for good.
Banana Nutrition Facts That You Should Know:
Banana is a good source of carbohydrates, mainly sugars in ripe bananas and starch in unripe bananas. The carbohydrates found in bananas drastically change during ripening. The main substance of unripe bananas is starch. In fact, green bananas have up to about 70-80% starch. During ripening, the starch will be converted into sugars and finishes up having less than 1% of starch when the bananas are fully ripe.
The most common kinds of sugar that is found in ripe bananas are fructose, sucrose and glucose. In ripe bananas, the content of sugar can account for over 16% of the fresh weight.
2. Protein And Fat
Consuming a banana also offers the body modest amounts of fat and protein. Each medium banana has 1.3g of protein, accounting for about 2% of the recommended daily intake of protein. Additionally, each banana has 0.4g of fat, contributing a modest amount to your intake of fat per day. To increase your healthy fat and protein intake when eating bananas, consider topping the sliced banana with 1 tbsp. of peanut or almond butter.
3. Vitamin B1
Eating a large banana offers about 3-4% of the daily intake of vitamin B1. This vitamin is an important cofactor in converting the foods you consume into energy. Also, it helps the body produce the genetic material required to produce new cells.
4. Vitamin B3
A large banana has about 6% of the recommended daily intake of niacin or vitamin B3. This vitamin helps the body produce required fats and works as a cofactor in the metabolic process of carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
5. Vitamin B6
Bananas are high in vitamin B6, which is an important element of all diets to improve health. The scientists suggest adults should take in about 1 1/2mg of vitamin B6 each day. A banana can offer you about ¼ of recommended daily intake of vitamin B6. Consuming just one banana once per day could help to reduce the risk of some types of cancers and simultaneously improve the cognitive function.
Additionally, for women, vitamin B6 can help reduce symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. Also, it can relieve morning sickness in pregnant women. B vitamins can be difficult to get in case you are a vegan; thus, banana can be helpful if you do not consume animal products.
6. Vitamin B9
Bananas provide you with a small amount of folate or vitamin B9. A large banana has about 27 micrograms of vitamin B9. This amount may offer you about 7% of the minimum daily need in case you are a non-pregnant woman or adult man. Folate helps the bone marrow produce red blood cells, thus preventing the risk of anemia.
7. Vitamin C
Banana is a great source of vitamin C. A medium-sized banana contains about 15% of the daily need of your body. Just a banana at breakfast may place you greatly on your body’s way to taking in sufficient amounts of vitamin C. Vitamin C can help boost your immune system, reduce inflammation, slow down the skin aging and even kill off cancer cells.
8. Vitamins A, E and K
The vitamins A, E and K are found in bananas. Although banana is healthy food choice to your diet, this fruit offers less than 1% of the daily requirement for these vitamins. Other food choices can provide you with the recommended intake of these vitamins.
You just require a bit of copper to get the recommended daily intake of copper. Copper combines with iron to help in boosting the growth of red blood cells. Bananas are one of some foods that are great sources of dietary copper, offering about 5% of the daily intake.
A banana also offers you 2% of your daily requirement of iron. Since vitamin C also helps ith your absorption of iron, so having both nutrients in the same food is helpful.
A high concentration of starch found in unripe bananas is starch, which is resistant to digestion and therefore, it is a form of fiber. This starch comes to the large intestine where it will be fermented by bacteria in a process of forming butyrate, which is a short-chain fatty acids happening to have positive effects on the intestinal health.
Besides, bananas are also a great source of other kinds of fiber called pectin. Some of the pectin found in bananas is water-soluble. When bananas are ripe, the content of water-soluble pectin increases, which is known as one of the main reasons for the fact that bananas turn soft when they age. Both resistant starch and pectin regulate the increase in the blood sugar after eating.
It is one of the most important minerals on the list of banana nutrition facts. It is a trace mineral, which means that we just require a very small amount of this mineral, but it is still important. Manganese may help stimulate the process of healing wound and may be good for the conjunction with other essential minerals for healthy bone. This makes bananas become a good snack to help you prevent the risk of developing osteoporosis.
In addition to this, manganese is also a part of the body’s essential antioxidants. It may help to protect the body from damaging the cells caused by free radicals. It also activates some enzymes that are very important for your metabolism.
Some foods are high in potassium, which is a mineral combined with sodium and other essential nutrients to keep the blood pressure staying healthy. Experts recommend that adults should get 4.7g of potassium daily. Each banana has 450mg of potassium, aiding you to meet the body’s requirement for this mineral.
A banana has a small amount of essential vitamins, but they will react with other chemicals found in bananas to offer you some health benefits. According to a study, bananas also have amino acid tyrosine, which may react with some certain vitamins to aid the brain to produce norepinephrine. This combination may boost the motivation, alertness, memory as well as ability to focus.
Although it is an essential neurotransmitter in your brain, dopamine found in bananas does not cross the blood-brain barrier to influence mood, but rather works as an antioxidant.
Some antioxidants are found in bananas and they have been associated with various health benefits, including a lower risk of developing cardiovascular diseases.

Learn how to practice mindfulness meditation from beginners to advanced in just about 5 minutes. But better, learn an easier way to experience deep peace and bliss in meditation without having to do years of meditation practice.
To start off with, does mindfulness meditation work? Yes, absolutely. But is there a quicker way to feeling deep peace and bliss? Yes, keep reading and you will find out how.
First, let’s start with Mindfulness Meditation. Mindfulness meditation means do your best to stay present, allowing whatever thoughts or emotions are there and noticing them instead of being involved with them.
This is a simple and direct technique but it isn’t easy. We are so used to identifying with our thoughts, experiencing that we are the thinker of our thoughts, that it takes a lot of practice and great focus to get to the point where we can remain present instead of get carried away by our thoughts.
You will get carried away by your thoughts a million times. But it is just to keep coming back to the present moment. As you do this, the time where you can be present and not pulled into thinking will increase.
To make mindfulness meditation easier, it is good to have something to focus on. Watching your breath is a simple technique to help keep you present. You can focus on the sound of your breath, or the feeling of your breath moving in and out of your nose or your body. As breathing is always happening in the present moment, watching your breath in this way will help keep you present.
By practicing this on a daily basis, you will become more relaxed, more present, more peaceful. But it is a long and arduous journey. A good one for sure, but if you could experience deep peace and bliss in meditation in minutes rather than years of practice, wouldn’t that be more beneficial?
Instead of having to wait many years for the possibility of experiencing deep bliss in meditation, isn’t there a faster way?
Vedic meditation places a very high value on what Buddhist meditation does not and that is the need for an enlightened teacher, one who has realized the deepest stages of meditation.
Beyond what they may teach, their very presence can instantly put you into a state of meditation. As they are more often than not in a deep state of bliss, the energy vibration of that bliss they feel gets transmitted to those around them.
That is why in India there is such a huge importance on spending time with the Guru. Because just by being around such an enlightened teacher, you feel deeply peaceful and blissful and can spontaneously enter into very deep states of meditation.
But most of us don’t have such physical proximity to a fully enlightened teacher or simply don’t feel comfortable in having a “Guru.” But because of breakthroughs in audio technology Computer Technology Articles, you can now receive this same spiritual energy that an enlightened teacher emits through sound.
By listening to this unique “Bliss Meditation Music” you can often instantly feel states of peace and bliss you would not experience after many years of meditation on your own. “What will the neighbours think?” That seemed to be the main concern of my parents when I was growing up.
As much as I rebelled against it at the time, and as much as that concern always felt like bondage to me, and as much as I really did see it as an example of how NOT to live, I still internalized the message that it matters VERY MUCH what other people think of me.
What I realize now is that being so concerned with what the neighbours and other people thought of us back then meant we were denying our own inner guidance and our own right to choose the best way to live and especially our own right to choose what feels good to us.
“What will the neighbours think” morphed into what will anyone and everyone – except me – think about me!!! Believing that I was constantly being judged and that it was extremely important not to be judged negatively, my connection with my True Self became tenuous at best.
While I remained in the prison of what other people think of me, my external guidance was playing at full volume and my inner guidance was often set on mute.
“It’s just about being you and being cool with that.”
– Carmine Gallo
Subtly and stealthily, I learned to let the way other people felt about me determine how I felt about myself. Which lead to trying to get other people – especially significant others – to like me so I could like myself.
Can you imagine? Trying to get other people to like and approve of me in order to like and approve of myself!
Well, it made sense at the time. Actually, it never made sense. It just became the game I was playing. The impossible game of trying to feel good about myself while believing it matters desperately what other people think of me!
When I first heard Abraham’s guidance to not give a rip what other people think, I was thrilled at the idea but I had no clue where to begin.
I had always liked the aphorism “happiness is an inside job” and decided to figure out what that actually means. I finally – halleluiah! – started looking inside to feel good. There were shaky starts and setbacks, but my True Self continued to call me to feel good from the inside out.
I set intentions, recited affirmations and practiced new beliefs. Most importantly, I made friends with my Inner Being and decided if my Inner Being and I feel good about me, that’s enough for me.
Now, with rare exceptions, I celebrate each day that:
I Feel Good from the Inside Out and
I No Longer Need Other People or Circumstances
To Make Me Feel Good!!!
And that, my friend, is #freedom!!!

When my client arrived I had her fill out a consultation card and offered a glass of water. Music was playing softly in the background with candles lit – she mentioned how nice the space felt.
Upon reviewing the client’s consultation card she indicated her stress level was 3.5 out of 4 but didn’t know why. We started a discussion to explore this more. She revealed it was a mix of things: wedding stress/pressures from “outside noise” as well as feeling ‘blah’, lost, not knowing what she really wants when it comes to career. She also indicated on her form that she wants to achieve a sense of peace & calm from our session.
I also asked the client how she relates and refer to her spirituality; she stated she refers to God as God or Higher Power. I felt this will help our session go smoothly and resonate with her on a deeper level.
I continued to give the client a run-down of our session and reaffirmed that she has control at all times so that she will not be forced to do anything that she is not ready for and we can stop at any time if anything feels uncomfortable. She seemed to appreciate this and appeared to feel comfortable and safe.
CHAKRA ASSESSMENT WITH PENDULUM
The chakra assessment was done with my opal pendulum that has been programmed by myself. I started off by saying a prayer with the client (I also offered for her to say one to herself while I said mine but she insisted I say this for the both of us):
Dear Higher Power,
I ask you to shine your light upon me clearing away any blocks & debris to easily access the power of the greater mind. Allow me to be present & make this moment holy.
The pendulum was then used to assess each chakra over the hand, then over the client’s body to cross reference. Each chakra was assessed with three ‘yes’ or ‘no’ questions: “Is the [Root] Chakra balanced? Under- Energized? Over-Energized”. The following was recorded for each:
Upon completion of the chakra assessment with the pendulum the client and I proceeded to have a discussion of the results.
The root chakra appeared to be in good balanced. When I spoke to the client about her family life and her sense of safety and security she shared she feels really good with this aspect of her life.
The sacral chakra showed signs of imbalance. The client has a good balance of intimacy in her relationship and has no concerns there however the imbalance may come from her creativity. Dance and performance plays a huge role in the client’s life. She initially shared she loves the flow of creativity and experiences joy when in the creative process of her dance jobs when she is choreographing routines and teaching in front of a class. However lately she finds herself questioning her creativity as to what capacity to use her creativity and what purpose it serves in her life. So this could be why the sacral chakra was a bit off balance.
The solar plexus also showed signs of imbalance. Upon speaking with the client I learned that she feels confident and carries a good self –esteem for the most part but often doubt creeps in and takes over as she allows outside influence effect how she feels about herself, doubt her talents and deservingness of jobs.
The heart chakra read that it was under-energized. I felt because the client was carrying some residual feelings of unforgiveness and sometimes found it hard to let go she has been carrying this within her heart chakra which resulted in her pulling back and becoming weary about who she can trust in her industry.
The throat chakra was under-energized. The client has a hard time communicating to others, often feeling she cannot talk to anyone or misunderstood when she does speak to trusted sources so she has resorted to keeping quiet, therefore holding back from speaking her truth and upset with her feelings inside. She even said “it has been going on for so long that I don’t really think about it anymore” she just got used to being quiet but this has led to her often feeling frustrated and alone. I explained that there is a healthy balance of speaking her truth and speaking from a place of love. We got further into a discussion of her “quietness” came from fear – fear of being judged, fear of being vulnerable, and fear of being seen for who she really is. She expressed that she wants to speak her truth but does not know how. I affirmed that we will release the stagnant energy circling the throat, heart, solar plexus and other areas (our discussion also helped moved things on a conscious level) through our meditation, aura clearing and chakra balancing and the client seemed happy about that. She also stated that things are starting to make sense and she can see how things were manifesting in her life because of the thoughts and “baggage” she was carrying.
The third eye appeared to be balanced. She expressed that generally she feels clear-headed, alert and has a good memory.
The crown chakra displayed to be imbalanced and this was because she resorted to “doing it alone” and not trusting and allowing a Higher Power to intervene which she herself confirmed she does believe in. One of my client’s first words to me was that she “felt lost” and “blah”. I explained that the closing off or blockage in her crown chakra would lead to thoughts and feelings of loneliness, doubt, emptiness and confusion when we don’t allow or trust that a Higher Power is guiding us. I assured that once we release any blocks and impurities in the crown chakra she would create a clearer path for the Higher Power to help and that it was okay to give permission to a higher source for help and guidance. She seemed to feel relieved and refreshed by this reminder.
Based on our conversation it was clear to see why certain chakras displayed signs of imbalance and why the client was feeling the way she was in her physical experience. She started off feeling lost, alone and “blah” and started doubting her purpose and career path. She was doubting her creativity (sacral chakra), whether she was deserving or good enough for great opportunities due to other people’s judgements and negative comments (solar plexus), carried a heavy burden of unforgiveness for certain people who criticized her and made her feel lesser than (heart chakra), she also has trouble expressing her true feelings and thoughts with others (throat chakra) which has left her feeling alone, frustrated and feeling she has to “do this alone” which has closed off her trust and opening to a Higher Power (crown chakra). The client seemed to have gained clarity and peace once we discussed why things were happening the way they were in her life due to what was happening on an energetic level.
CHAKRA BALANCING WITH STONES
As the client was already in a laying position we continued her treatment with chakra balancing with stones.
I had cleansed the stones in a glass jar with salt water under a full moon the night before and charged it for 4 hours in the sunlight.
The stones used on the client were:
I placed the stones on the corresponding chakra areas then asked the client to gently close her eyes as I talk her through a visualization.
I guided her to inhale slowly into the area of our focus and imagine the colour of the stone penetrating to the chakra. Visualizing the healing (turquoise blue) colour radiating out from the chakra into the world around her I gently affirmed a positive statement such as “I speak my truth with divine love” and encouraged her to expand her light in that corresponding area energizing her entire body. We proceeded to do this with all seven chakras. I ended with wrapping a white light around her body from crown to toe and affirming she will always be divinely protected, guided and provided for. This practice took around 10 minutes. Once we were complete I offered the client water again and told her to take her time to get up. √
I checked in with the client again and she said she was feeling good and relaxed.
I wanted to give the client something to solidify the clearing and work she did today so we agreed on two things: prayer and an affirmation.
We wrote a small prayer together calling on the help of the Higher Power which she was to practice every day in good times and bad.
The mantra also was to affirm that she is being divinely guided and that she will trust and allow the help in her life. She was instructed to do this 3x morning, day and night.
The client seemed happy about this and said she will do this.
After our session the client mentioned she felt relaxed and much lighter stating now she knows what to work on as our session brought her much clarity and she will definitely be seeing me again. A follow up email was later sent where she mentioned “Thanks so much for all your help! I'm definitely feeling lighter after yesterday's session and just trusting that God knows what's best for me and will help guide me”
As this is the start of my client shifting out of old behaviours and patterns I look forward to assisting her in her journey as she has mentioned she will be coming back to see me again.
The only thing I would change about our session is perhaps just doing the chakra assessment with the client laying down and using the pendulum over each chakra as opposed to the hand. I will also continue strengthening my ability to see auras.

For those that have ever suffered with depression they will know that feelings can range from sadness to utter despair. Unfortunately, there are not many of us that manage to get through life without going through some rough patches, Depression is a form of low mood and unwillingness to activity that can affect a person's thoughts, behaviour, feelings and sense of well-being. People with a depressed mood can feel sad, anxious, empty, hopeless, helpless, worthless, guilty, irritable, angry, ashamed or restless. Depression can also make us more susceptible to illnesses due to it effecting the immune system.
Crystals are amplifiers and transmitters of energy. Their job is to protect your energy with some crystals even absorbing the energy for you. The crystals will take on negativity that is being directed at you. And help awaken your best self.
Crystals for a positive outlook and thinking
Pyrite and Sunstone promote positive thinking whilst black tourmaline and smoky quartz can transmute negative energy into a positive one, My personal favourite is the Clear Quartz crystal this works wonders on clearing the mind, working on all areas of the body, clear quartz is an excellent stone for meditation, directing energies with more intensity. I will show you how to do a positive affirmation using the clear quartz below. Citrine is a crystal of light and happiness that will help you to live in the now. Citrine is known as a manifestation stone and will encourage you to dream big and maintain a positive state of mind. Blue Quartz is a calming and harmonious stone that purifies the mental, emotional and physical bodies, it will help calm the mind, reducing stress and negative thoughts. Green Aventurine helps balance both male and female energies bringing joy, happiness and tranquility whilst promoting an easy going attitude to life.
You can use your crystals easily by carrying them around with you or wearing them as jewellery. Be sure to keep your favourite crystals on you or in your environment. If you already have a keen interest in crystals and want to learn more, The school of Life Studies offer an advanced diploma in Crystal Magic. This course is amazing and will take you onto a further journey into the world of crystal healing. My favourite part of this course in particular is learning about crystal grids and layouts. It will teach you what they are and how they work.
Positive affirmations are statements that assert the truth of something positive, it is the shifting of negative thought patterns to more positive ones. Using affirmations can help you focus on what you really want to do in life. It can be an empowering experience and will open you up to new possibilities. Basically you decide what you are doing the affirmation for and why. No one else has to be involved and you can programme yourself to learn whatever you want. Below is a crystal affirmation that I was taught a very long time ago that I would love to share with you
For this affirmation all you will need is a clear quartz crystal.
What to do:
This Chakra and Aura case study has been written by a student from The school of Life Studies.
Chakra and Aura case study on a 47 year old female
We discussed my clients daily routines, work, hobbies etc whilst filling out a treatment card. My client seems to have lots of positive energy and thoughts. She is feeling a little lethargic at the present time and would like to look at treatments to rebalance her chakra and energy levels.
My client practices yoga on a daily basis and looks to be both mentally and physically well, she understands the energy relationships between the chakra points, our aura properties and the balance of wellbeing when all are aligned.
My client seems to have a well and balanced diet and keeps an eye on her general wellbeing.
I asked the my client to lay in a relaxed position. I began the treatment by playing soft gentle music. I lowered the lighting levels to create an ambient atmosphere.
I lit some incense to fill the room and cleanse the treatment area. I spoke gently with my client and asked her to focus on clear and natural images.
As the client was relaxed I began laying out my pendulum, I sat upon the floor with the pendulum in front of me and began to relax and focus my energy towards the pendulum, clearing my mind and aiming positive energy at my equipment. I cleared my mind of unnecessary images and clutter and began my meditation process. Concentrating my thoughts on the music, lighting and smell filling the room.
I stood upright and calmly addressed my client, I asked her if she was relaxed and what if any thoughts had crossed her mind while she was in a relaxed state. She had focused her thoughts on a clear sandy beach and crystal clear waters. I asked her to remain focused on this and proceeded with my preparation.
I lit sage and began cleansing my aura and energy fields, once I had cleansed myself I began a smudging process around and above my client.
Once completed I lifted my pendulum and again focused my energy on the crystal within. I expressed to my client that I would begin the treatment by dowsing the chakra areas.
Starting with the root chakra I placed the pendulum above the zone, the pendulum began spinning in a clockwise direction in an equal spiral and a steady pace. I made a note of the action, steadied the pendulum and moved onto the next zone.
I placed the pendulum above the sacral zone and awaited guidance, again the pendulum moved in a clockwise direction, an equal spiral and steady pace, this was also noted and the pendulum readies for the next area.
The pendulum was again steadied and my focus directed at the pendulum. I placed the pendulum above the solar plexus and again noted the movement, clockwise direction, equal spiral and steady pace. This was noted and the pendulum readied for the next zone.
Before proceeding the next chakra point I asked the client how she was feeling and if she was still in a relaxed state. I asked her to maintain her focus on the imagery of the beach and the crystal clear waters as before.
I steadied the pendulum once again and proceeded to the next zone
The pendulum was positioned above the heart chakra and I began to observe. Again the pendulum moved as before, equal spiral, steady pace.
The pendulum was steadied, focused and placed above the throat chakra. The pendulum began slower this time but again picked up pace and began to move as per the last chakra zones checked. I made a note of this area and prepared to move onto the next zone.
Again I asked my client how she was feeling before moving onto the next area.
Placing the pendulum above the third eye chakra I focused my energy on the pendulum. The pendulum remained still and no movement was observed. I removed the pendulum from this area, cleared my focus, held the pendulum straight and began again at the third eye zone. The pendulum was steady and again no movement was observed.
I made a note of this and my mind began to cloud, this was different and I had begun to wonder what this may have been. I realized I had shifted my focus but had still yet to complete the final chakra zone.
I asked my client how she was feeling and asked her to remain focused and relaxed.
I laid the pendulum down and began to refocus my mind and shift my energy back to the pendulum.
The pendulum was placed above the crown area and observed. The pendulum began to move in the same clockwise direction and steady pace as per the previous areas. I noted this and placed the pendulum down. I began looking at my notes and had seen a pattern for the 6 chakra zones, all resulting in an equal clockwise spiral and all at the same steady pace, however the third eye zone was still with no pendulum movement observed.
I thought as a double check I would try the pendulum over the hand as described within my coursework.
Starting at the wrist – steady equal spiral, clockwise direction, steady pace.
Thumb - steady equal spiral, clockwise direction, steady pace.
Middle finger - steady equal spiral, clockwise direction, steady pace.
Small finger - steady equal spiral, clockwise direction, steady pace.
Index finger - steady equal spiral, clockwise direction, steady pace.
Ring finger – No movement observed.
Palm - steady equal spiral, clockwise direction, steady pace.
I asked my client how she was feeling, she replied that she was feeling very relaxed and comfortable.
I reviewed my notes again and in both cases the third eye chakra point there had been no movement. I referred to my study notes just to refresh my memory. So I had equal movement, direction and pace on 6 areas, they all seemed to be uniformed so assumed that the balance was equal and balanced. The third eye zone was observed as no movement at all. I assumed by this lack of movement would indicate this area was dormant or not energized.
I asked my client to relax her body and when ready, to position herself in an upright seated position. Once she had made herself comfortable we began to discuss my observations found during the treatment.
I mentioned that all of the chakra zones seemed well balanced and open apart from the third eye. I asked if it would be ok for me just to look at here for a while and to see if I could observe any aura or glow around her body.
I lit some more incense and we both positioned ourselves in a relaxed seating position. I began looking at the area in question, focusing my view just to the side of her head and began to concentrate my eyesight allowing for a slight blurring to occur. I began to make out a slight glow around the head and shoulder area but nothing really stood out in shape of any colour or different contrast within my viewing area.
I focused on this area for several minutes but no alteration to colour or size of aura was observed. I could only assume that as this was a new to me my focus would still need to be honed and practiced.
I asked my client to make herself comfortable and when ready to open her eyes.
Again I discussed my observations and made reference to my previous findings with the pendulum. I asked if she had any issues on her mind that she had been overly focusing on which may have created a blockage within her energy balance.
My Client expressed that she is a very creative person who enjoys art, reading and painting, she also has a great interest in acting and singing. She had recently applied for an audition with and acting group and was awaiting a response. During this time she had refrained from any creative expression with her art work and writing.
I assessed this conversation and surmised that this could have possibly been the cause for the lack of observed energy in the sixth chakra zone. It is after all our perception and visualization centre. I asked my client to try and shift her focus onto a more creative energy, to try and move herself back into a creative mode and to relax her mind process. By being creative and expressing her imagination this may clear any obstruction within the 6th chakra zone.
I asked her to carry out a visual meditation each morning or when time would permit and to focus on the creativity of herself, to express her inner imagination through writing, dance, colour. To maybe take a walk along the beach and imagine the clear sand and crystal clear water.
If we can allow our thoughts to clear and focus on the creative it may help with the opening of the 6th chakra zone.
I will leave my client for a few days and I have asked her to look at a meditation program, observe the natural colours of nature as she is out walking and to try and shift her focus from awaiting a response from the acting group and to try and refocus on herself and her wellbeing.
We will assess her energy zones and aura during the next treatment to observe any alteration or changes.
So as I was driving home from work I had my current favorite playlist on the car stereo and was singing away feeling pretty damn good. Suddenly as I was slowing down for the red lights ahead, a car sped past cut in front of me. I quickly slammed my brakes on and my car came to a holt. I felt my self-tense up immediately and before I knew it I’d shouted a few obscenities. I was so angry and my thoughts had started spinning out of control. I had gone from feeling happy and content to being angry and upset within approximately 30 seconds. I set off on my journey again this time I had turned down the volume on the radio and the song I had just been singing away to didn’t seem to have the same joyful vibe it had just a minute before, I was aware that I was holding the steering wheel rather firmly and I found my self muttering on about what a silly move that was.
STOP!!!! I told myself how can I suddenly now be so angry. At this point I started to observe my thoughts I wanted to know what exactly was going on so I could develop an insight and an understanding of how the thoughts and feelings controlling me I figured by watching the thoughts that my mind was just grabbing whatever it could to find sense to the situation, the thoughts I were having were repetitive and focused on the same thing. I was angry that the man had pulled out in front of me and my mind was finding more and more reasons to be mad at this man. This is not the first time I have been angry either I tend to do it a lot, I get angry with bad drivers, I get angry at rude people, late buses, my family not cleaning up after themselves. I don’t like feeling angry though, it feels like it’s eating me up from the inside.
Negative thoughts and feeling seem to have a habit of popping up at the most inconvenient times and they distract us from all the good things that are going on in our life. Before you know it our minds have taken us on a journey of negativity and dark emotions that we didn’t even know we had.
Anger is an issue for many of us, I think being aware of our anger is a great first step to learning to let it go. When we are angry It is important to try and spend a little bit of time to relax, put things into context and let it go. This is something that I am working on and I am happy to share with you just a couple of the techniques I am working on.
When your thoughts are spinning out of control stop and ask yourself what are you thinking about? Chances are you angry at something that has happened in the past, are you obsessing over something that is yet to happen? The key to stopping those negative thoughts is to be aware of them happening. Concentrate on Now! What is actually happening in this moment maybe you could try and think of a happy memory or look at a calming image, this can relax the mind which will help let that negative thought go. It’s a great method to calm and relax the mind.
When we are angry we tend to shallow breathe, which means the air is staying at the top of our lungs, deep breathing will allow more oxygen into our brains and the rest of our body, I have a couple of meditation apps on my smart phone that allow me to focus on breathing but you can just as easily download a meditation on you tube.
It is near impossible to smile and be upset at the same time, when we laugh or smile we instantly feel lighthearted and happy. Why not give it a go now. Give us one of your biggest, brightest smiles, and really mean it, that’s it. How do you feel? Do you feel joy? Did you forget about your problems for just a minute? Smiling will not make your problems go away however it will give you that much needed breather from all that negative thinking that you are subjecting yourself to.
“A day without laughter is a day wasted.” — Charlie Chaplain
The longer you hold on to a grudge, the more painful emotions you will experience, Forgiveness can change your life, it doesn’t mean you are erasing the past or forgetting what has happened, it doesn’t even mean the other person is going to change their behaviour. It just means that you are letting go of all the anger and pain and moving on to a better place. Forgiveness is not easy, but you can learn to do it.
Every day we have plenty of opportunities to get angry, stressed or offended. But what you're doing when you indulge these negative emotions is giving something outside yourself power over your happiness. You can choose to not let little things upset you.

My client came to me for help with stress, problems sleeping and she had also been having shoulder problems getting worse, as she was getting older, as she was a part time mobile hairdresser, part time waitress at a local restaurant and house wife and mother with a teenage daughter and husband who worked full time but they still had financial problems and family issues.
Although I didn't have a treatment room with a couch, I did have a room to use that was suitable for consultations that could be done in privacy as it had comfortable seating and was a quiet, light airy room that can be kept at a comfortable temperature. I was also able to use scented oils, candles, incense and crystals, which I had readily available.
Once I had found out that she didn't have problems with any oils or scents, I decided to burn Basil oil as it was said that it was good for stress and was also of the green rays vibrations which would bring peace and harmony and also help with her shoulders via the heart chakra.
During this time whilst I prepared the room, I asked her to fill in a consultation card to provide any extra information.
I then invited her in and to take a seat and make herself comfortable. We then went over her questionnaire discussing the answers if necessary. I also explained to her about the Basil oil that was burning and why and then we went through the results she would like to happen. We also discussed her lifestyle and diet and decided to use the Colour Breathing treatment, Colour Affirmations, Oils and Crystals.
I then explained about the Colour Breathing that it uses the power of thought vibrations reinforced by the effects of colour vibrations to act with positive affect on our etheric body. It works by the thought waves, which are sent out in geometric patterns from us, to cleanse negative thoughts and feelings, by breathing in the light and breathing out the negative, harmful and impure imbalances. Then the area is re balanced and cleansed and re energised and gains more positive thoughts.
I got my client to start breathing in pure white light and to actually picture the pure white light as she breathed it in and then as she breathed out to picture it was the dirty grey impurities that she was breathing out of her body. I told her to keep on doing this until she felt she was no longer breathing out grey, but breathing white in and out and she was enveloped by all white and her breath had become lighter and lighter.
Each colour has it's own wavelength and it can be used to influence the body to change it's behaviour through the Etheric body, to what is needed, depending on what is required as it removes any stagnant energy and old thoughts to positive and ones that promote a better life and health.
We decided to use the colour green, as this was for the shoulder problems and also for stress and works on the green rays via the Heart chakra. I then explained to her to picture green rays coming through the heart chakra and to breathe them in until she was surrounded by the green rays and green light. I also decided to use the Violet rays to breathe in to help with the sleeping problems. I told her to imagine breathing in the violet rays until she was completely surrounded by a violet light and it should help her sleep better at night. It was also something she could do just before she went to bed or even in bed. We then gave thanks for what we had received and I gave her a glass of water to help with removing toxins from the body
We then discussed about the colour affirmations and how they worked and I explained that they were short sentences, including the colour you require, that you say regularly during the day, but they work especially well first thing in a morning when you rise and last thing at night before you go to sleep. They raise the positivity and change old patterns and ways of thinking. I advised her to use the colour Green and Violet for the insomnia. I also advised her to maybe use Marjoram oil during the evening or before she went to bed to provide soothing vibrations to help with a peaceful sleep.
We then discussed diet and I advised her to have a light meal from the green rays foods, who's complimentary colours was blue or magenta, which include lettuce, green beans, spinach, broccoli, leeks, celery, leafy green veg, cucumber, peas, avocado's, green grapes, kiwi, blueberries, sloes, plums and fish. I also advised to drink hot chocolate or a milky drink like Horlicks at bedtimes and not tea or coffee.
We then discussed crystals as she was quite interested in them and had some and wasn't sure what to do with them. I advised her that a pink rose quartz would be very helpful put by the side of her bed as this was soothing and calming. I then advised her that she could wear them in pendants like little cages, which you can change the crystals to your preference, have them in pockets, on desks, in handbags and purses and around the house.
I advised her that green crystals would be good for her such as Jade, Adventurine, Malachite which is good for pain, Watermelon Touramaline which is green and pink, and they are all used with the heart chakra and for the green vibrations. For the Violet I recommended Amethyst as these are easy to obtain and a very good all purpose crystal
I then noted down the treatments we had done, any oils, crystals etc. that we had used for future reference, should she wish to return.
I also asked for any feedback and made a note of her comments.
She then left and I cleansed the room for the next client.
December is here and for many of us the thought of Christmas alone fills us with dread and depression. Many people can be alone at Christmas for different reasons, such as the death of a loved one, maybe you don’t have a close relationship with your relatives or you live far from relatives; Society tells us that to spend time alone at Christmas is miserable, dismal, sad and sorrowful. The truth is spending time alone does not have to be any of those things. If you find yourself alone this Christmas then read on…. Below we have put together a list of challenging and enjoyable ideas to revel in Christmas alone.
Volunteering over Christmas is the perfect way to connect with others. Not only will you bring joy to those less fortunate it will help boost your self-esteem. Perhaps you could help out at a local soup kitchen or take gifts to lonely residents at a nursing home or hospital.
Take a road trip:
Why not jump in the car and go somewhere you have never been before. Never be afraid of travelling solo. It will make you a more confident and independent human being.
Spend the day in self indulgence, Think really good cake, bubble baths, champagne, steak, red wine, internet shopping. Whatever takes your fancy go for it spend the entire day doing things you love
Why not become an indoor nudist for the entire day. We are born naked and it is our natural state. Clothing keeps us warm and is often necessary to wear in public, but that doesn't mean it needs to be worn at all times. Bear in mind If you are in a cold country it might be an idea to put the heating on.
Take the time to appreciate al that you do have in life. Write a list of all the things you are grateful for whether it be good health, fresh water, warmth, food on the table, a place to live. Writing down at least 5 things that you are grateful for can help rewire your brain, Cultivating an “attitude of gratitude” has been linked to better health, less anxiety, sounder sleep and overall a higher long-term satisfaction with life.
Why not spend the day being productive. If you enjoy work and have the option to work on Christmas day then why not? If you have a job that involves interacting with people (customers & co workers) then being at work may well help you feel less lonely
Take a walk:
Wrap up warm and take in the sights and sounds of Christmas day. Walk by your neighbours houses take in the smells and why not try and guess what they are cooking.
You could spend the entire day doing absolutely nothing, have a movie marathon or just spend the entire day in bed.
Look through your local phone book ring random numbers. Wish them a very merry Christmas then put the phone down.
Spend the day you tubing your favorite comedians. Laughter is good for your health and relaxes the whole body. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after. Laughter boosts the immune system.
Learn something new by simply using a search engine, type in something you've always wanted to know. It could be anything from the history of a play to learning how to use crystals. Who knows by new year you could be starting a whole new career.
Remember Christmas is just one day and with enough imagination you can make the day enjoyable for you. If you really are feeling down about being alone at Christmas and just can’t pull yourself out of it, please reach out for help. Call a friend, family member, or a helpline. You don't need to be alone.
We hear it again and again; that intention creates our reality. What we think is what we become. What we attach to is what we manifest. However I didn’t fully understand this until a particular incident occurred, and even then, it took me time to get the full picture of the powerful effects of self love, or in my case at the time; self-hate.
It was an unforgettable summer. My boyfriend and I were enjoying our road trip from San Francisco to Vancouver, taking in the beautiful sights that surrounded us along the way. We were grateful for the journey we were on; reminding each other how thankful we were to be experiencing breath-taking scenic views of the ocean and the beautiful national parks which we explored and camped in. It was a trip that had us appreciate living in the present and being in awe of the exquisiteness of the nature, which surrounded us. After almost a week of driving and camping out of our car, it was exciting to finally approach a small private resort which had a restaurant that extended to three swimming pools and showers to use. It’s the simplest of things like taking a shower and washing ones hair that we might take for granted when we have access to do it every day! We decided to park our car at the designated camper van area near the resort, and finally indulge in the luxury of washing our selves clean and going for a rejuvenating swim. It was around this time that I started to feel faint, so I decided not to go for a swim, but I was not leaving that place until I devoured a hot shower! As I walked into the ladies room, I noticed women of all ages crowded in the shower room, washing themselves and their children, and once a spot was free, I removed my clothes and stepped in.
A few minutes later I heard a few gasps and then one woman asking if I had hurt myself. I didn’t know what was happening, but at that moment someone else muttered ‘gross’ whilst others chimed in that I was bleeding. Heavily. I looked down at my naked body to see a stream of blood flowing down my leg and in the moment of panic not knowing whether I had cut myself or if…” You have you period”! Said one woman whilst her two young children pointed at me. I sensed their separation, slowly moving further away from me. It looked like I was encircled by stares. I couldn’t help but notice how some of the younger girls were looking at me up and down. I don’t remember much at that moment except the feelings of utter humiliation, and in my bare state, feeling very exposed and vulnerable surrounded by onlookers who were hurrying along to move out of the showers. Stupid period. Why do women have to get it-why did I have to get it now from all the other times I could have gotten it. Why do we need to go through this crap. And why was I bleeding so much? Am I some sort of freak? Stop bleeding. Stop! At that moment, I hated the fact I was a ‘woman’. It was clear that I was overly sensitive since I was menstruating and felt quite hormonal, however these were emotions that still overtook my every cell. ‘Yes I must have started my period’, I managed to say, which probably came out as a whisper since the only thing I could hear where my own terrifying thoughts of feeling on the spot as part of some sort of spectacle. I tried hard not to look down for I didn’t want to see how bad the situation could have seemed to others. After what felt like an eternity, I ran into one of the cubicles and quickly got dressed, trying hard to hold back my tears. ‘Its no big deal.’ I kept telling myself. “ We are all women here and this is normal,” I kept repeating in my mind over and over again. But I felt paralyzed by the embarrassment. The shame. I felt hatred towards my own sensitivity and for thinking too much about what had just happened. ‘For goodness sake, stop being so sensitive about it and snap out of it!’ I told myself. I took a few deep breaths and mustered my courage to walk out with my head held high. But inside, I felt like a child who had been disgraced in public. I had allowed it to distress me.
As soon as I got out and walked towards the exit of the resort, I burst into tears releasing the emotions I was holding onto inside. My boyfriend was waiting outside for me and kept asking what had happened. Part of me felt that I wouldn’t be understood; another felt I didn't want to relive the situation by having to explain. I tried to brush it off as something I might have over-reacted to and that I was fine. But he could tell I was deeply affected. I knew I had to let go of what I was holding onto so strongly inside. Shame is like a virus and feeds when kept in silence. In actual fact there was nothing really to be ashamed about, however the unexpected incident of it all had me feeling extremely weak and lost. The fact that it was such a ‘personal’ thing to happen makes it easier to talk about it now, but the shame and embarrassment was overpowering, which magnified my self-hate.
Soon after, I put the event at the back of my mind and didn’t think of it again. We continued on our adventure, and approached our destination within the next few days. We left Vancouver with fond memories of our beautiful time together in such wilderness that will forever be engraved in our hearts.
Fast forward three months, I started to panic when I still hadn’t gotten my period. I then started to suffer shooting pains in my lower left side and after a few sleepless nights, I decided it was time to finally see a Doctor. She carried out an ultrasound and it was revealed that I had a cyst growing on my ovary, which was already 8cm and if it would continue to grow, had to be surgically removed. Though ovarian cysts are quite common amongst women, I had never had one before and was bewildered as to why or how I could have gotten one and whether it would continue to grow, or if it could shrink or if there was a way to possibly make it disappear? I saw another Doctor who ran blood tests to make sure I wasn’t low on hormones that meant having children would not be possible. Luckily everything came back as normal but it had me thinking.
It was during one night as I lay in bed trying to fall asleep, that instinctively I had placed my hands on my lower left side and prayed the pain would go away, when it all started to connect and make sense to me. This cyst was formed for a reason. I created the intention by holding on subconsciusly to that incident which had me so paralyzed by the emotions I felt when I had my period in the public shower. The language I used talking to myself, my body and the thoughts that encompassed me then, were all targeted towards self-hate and the shame of having my period. When I connected the two and realized the creation of my cyst was all my doing, I burst into laughter. If anyone had been in the room with me they would have thought I had gone completely mad! But it was a joyous laughter; almost like a feeling of accomplishment when having solved a complex puzzle. I did this to me! I manifested this cyst. And if I created this to me, I could ‘un-create’ it. I felt very sure and confident that through positive affirmations, strong visualization and through the power of love and compassion, I would make this cyst go away!
So I was set on a personal mission; every morning and every night through conscious breathing, I would send my body love and compassion. Compassion should always start with one self, so I set a strong intention of loving my body. I trusted my own commitment to myself, to loving my organs, to loving every part of me and everything it is capable of doing and in being able to heal itself. I felt a renewed sense of celebrating ‘me’. I set the intention of forgiving myself and to obtain peace within. I would do this for two months and then go for my follow up appointment.
At my next Doctor’s appointment, the ultra-sound had shown that my cyst had gone. To be honest, I knew that even before it was confirmed. It is without a doubt that the power of intention (which can manifest through what we hold on to and what we truly believe in) can help. Healing is said to be synonymous with letting go. Healing, in many aspects is also finding peace. I knew then, that I had fully ‘let go’ and was finally released of the incident, which helped me obtain peace.
Whatever situation we might find ourselves in, we need to remember that we are observant of our surroundings and sponges to our thoughts. Something that might seem very trivial and minor to others could have a profound affect on you. No matter how ‘insignificant’ an incident might be, if its something someone said, someone accused you of, or perhaps from a situation you found yourself in, don’t dismiss your feelings as ‘over reacting’ but rather try to understand where and why the pain was formed. If it triggers a level of stress, or any emotion that doesn’t feel authentic to you, it can and will manifest to’dis-ease’ within the body. Hence such emotions should not be ignored. They should be recognized, understood and released in some way.
People, who are generally healthy and happy, radiate a positive energy, which normally comes from practicing a form of ‘release’ and centering ones mind. Whether it’s through meditation, prayer, creative hobbies or things that celebrate a form of expression, we are able to detach from negative experiences that could have imprinted us with an illness.
Granted, confronting a situation that might have angered, upset or frightened us is not easy; we usually find it habitual to ‘put it behind us’ without actually coming face to face with what truly affected us.
Give it the recognition it deserves, and then forgive yourself by setting the intention of being free from the emotions. For some it may be through writing, for others through conscious breathing and letting go of what profoundly wants to ‘stick’ to us. Whatever you find you enjoy, you will be able to follow through with liberating yourself. We have the choice to heal through intention, and to love oneself with compassion.
